The Pyes Pa School Board of Trustees (BOT) is currently two years into a three year term. The Board is elected by members of the school community and  made up of five Parents/community members –

Maria Meehan (Chairperson)
Lesley Jensen
Tina Kennedy
Keith Thompson
Adrian Claydon
One staff representative – Sue Walmsley
Brendan Clarkin -  Principal

Our role within the school is a governing role with sub committees made up of the following:

Finance – Brendan Clarkin. Adrian Claydon, Maria Meehan
Policies and Procedures – Tina Kennedy, Lesley Jensen
Personnel – Brendan Clarkin, Sue Walmsley, Lesley Jensen, Tina Kennedy
Property – Keith Thompson, Brendan Clarkin

As well as the above, one of our biggest roles in the governing of our school is monitoring programmes that are put into place to raise student learning and achievement.
Through assessing data that our teachers collate in different areas of the curriculum i.e. Literacy, Writing, Maths Sciences etc.  the BOT monitors the progress of the children and the school ensuring the education our children get, is, if not on par, but above average on a national level.
The collection of data provides targets for improving student achievement and identifies the teaching and learning programmes that are a large part of the Pyes Pa School Charter.
The BOT meets once a month, visitors are welcome and minutes are available at the school office.
Feel free to approach members of the board if you have any questions regarding the BOT role in our school.
