On May 12th 2005 the Te Arakura o Blundell bush track was opened by Graham Weld, Mayor of Western BOP District Council. Also in attendance were Sue Oinn and Andrew Jenks from the Council, Jillian Houghton and Esther from Environment BOP, and Betty Blundell, the local landowner. Miss Blundell has placed a covenant on the track which guarantees access in perpetuity for all Pyes Pa School children and she has named our children as the guardians of the track, a very generous gesture indeed.
